This is what my face looks like!

I’ve been involved with photography since I was 15 years old, starting with an old analog Yashica on a family vacation. From that first moment I discovered that my camera is a vehicle for my expression, and that what interests me the most is always challenging that form of personal expression. You’ll never see me settling for the standard, the cliche, the basic, or the bare minimum.

In 2009 I bought my first DSLR, a Nikon D3000 christened “Nancy”. With her I tackled my first jobs as a photographer, and also learned what it feels to be right in the action, as well as many nuances of the profession. It was frustrating, I’m not going to lie (and to this day, it still is in some aspects, that’s learning), but it was and continues to be extremely fulfilling. I still feel the same way I did back then when I get a commission or an idea for a personal project that I execute. It’s thrilling and exciting, and I wouldn’t change it for the world.

Some of my favorite jobs so far include: 1) Five consecutive years as the official photographer for a two-day long information security conference, held in Buenos Aires, hosting an average of one thousand people each year. 2) Working with an underground band for three years, covering shows, rehearsals, gatherings and private moments, and even some cover-art and promotional assignments. 3) And creating all the visual content - including product photography, for a tech company.

After years of sharing my life with my passion, I can say with confidence that my proficiencies include event, nature, and studio photography. Although I would comfortably; and with my own unique style, dabble in any challenge that comes my way. At this moment I’m working on my Professional Photography diploma in NSCC-Ivany, ultimately aiming toward owning my studio where I’d create content as well as teaching it.

My ongoing projects today are helping me explore both my existing skills, and new and discoverable ones. I’m working on personal, academic and professional projects; successfully and simultaneously. Personal: Landscapes - Inspired by the great Ansel Adams, I search for places that move me, where I can reproduce his exceptional talent as best as I can. Academic: Street photography - HRM is a huge metropolis where there’s always something going on, everywhere. Capturing the urban environment of this region will improve my perception of the human condition and all the small details that usually we take for granted, which ultimately are the essence of why this style is so special. Professional: Corporate - For the past year I've had the privilege of creating graphic content for different businesses. I’ve created head shots, product and stock photography, and even illustrations for web and product packaging. Working with these companies helped me get a glimpse into what higher level of professional workmanship looks and feel like, which I’ll keep, and work on as personal experience.

Photography, simply put, is my life. I couldn’t imagine myself without it. And it is my goal to always be better and better at it.
